1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Northbound Esports website, tournaments, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By registering a team, entering a tournament, or otherwise using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Game Rules, and Code of Conduct. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

To register or compete, you must:

• Be at least 16 years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher. Participants under 18 require verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian.
• Own a legitimate, in-good-standing account for the relevant game (e.g. a valid Riot Games account for VALORANT) that complies with the game publisher's terms of service.
• Not be currently banned or suspended by the game publisher or by Northbound Esports.
• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.

3. Team Registration & Accounts

The team captain is responsible for the accuracy of all roster information and for communicating tournament information to their players. Each player may be registered to only one team per tournament.

Registrations are subject to review and approval by Northbound Esports administrators. We reserve the right to reject or remove any registration that is incomplete, fraudulent, or in violation of these Terms, without obligation to provide a reason.

4. Tournaments & Participation

Tournament formats, schedules, brackets, and rules are published on the Platform and in the applicable Game Rules. By participating, you agree to:

• Follow all published rules, schedules, and administrator instructions.
• Be available and checked in for your matches at the scheduled times.
• Accept that administrator decisions regarding results, disputes, and rule interpretation are final.

Northbound Esports may modify, suspend, reschedule, or cancel any tournament for reasons including insufficient participation, technical failure, or force majeure.

5. Prizes & Payments

Prize pools are stated per tournament and awarded only to eligible teams that complete the event in accordance with these Terms and the Game Rules. Unless stated otherwise:

• Prizes are distributed to the registered team captain, who is responsible for internal distribution among players.
• Winners may be required to provide identity and payment details, and to sign a prize receipt, before payout.
• Participants are solely responsible for any taxes arising from prizes received.
• Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash-equivalent substitution unless we determine otherwise.

6. Intellectual Property

The Northbound Esports name, logo, and original content are the property of Northbound Esports. Game titles, characters, and related assets are the property of their respective publishers (for example, VALORANT and its assets are trademarks of Riot Games, Inc.). Northbound Esports is not endorsed by or affiliated with Riot Games. By participating, you grant Northbound Esports a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your team name, tag, logo, and match footage for the purpose of operating, broadcasting, and promoting our events.

7. User Conduct

You agree to use the Platform lawfully and to abide by our Code of Conduct. Cheating, use of unauthorized third-party software, account sharing, match-fixing, harassment, hate speech, and any behavior that undermines the integrity of competition are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification.

8. Disqualification & Termination

We may, at our discretion, disqualify a team or player, withhold or revoke prizes, and suspend or terminate access to the Platform for any violation of these Terms, the Game Rules, or the Code of Conduct, or for conduct we reasonably believe to be harmful to other participants or to Northbound Esports.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure access to the Platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Northbound Esports shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or participation in our tournaments. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount of the prize (if any) at issue for the relevant tournament.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which Northbound Esports is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
